MR-16 Globes need a Transformer or Driver.The quality of the transformer or driver will determine the light output and lifespan of your globes

There are countless brands of low voltage halogen transformers in service in ceilings around the world. Many cheaper versions do not provide a stable output, many others will operate the LED globe but will lead to a shorter working life.
When LED globes are run on these devices it becomes evident with light jitter, lower light output and shorter globe life.LED globes cannot be dimmed on a halogen transformer.

A dedicated 12 volt  LED Driver will provide the constant current & stable voltage to promote the longevity that Coolmax Globes are renown for.

At present we have several tested transformer/drivers that we can recommend and trust.

For non dimming function we recommend the ECOsparks Constant Voltage Driver and the Coolmax Constant Current Driver for dimming functions we recommend the Atco Iron Core Transformer and the Coolmax Constant Current Dimming Driver

For specialist applications we have the MeanWell range, available on variable voltage output, variable current output and waterproof models.

Many older homes will have the ATCO transformer, as it has been the stalwart of the low voltage industry for decades, It will run and dim your Coolmax globes satisfactorily but it will use an additional 2.8 watts of power.
